What Is Group Counseling?
Group Counseling is a type of counseling that involves groups of people sharing, discussing, interacting, and exploring shared struggles. It gives the person an avenue to work out problems, express emotions, and find a connection with others who share the same struggles as them. Moreover, individuals who are having a hard time with interpersonal relationships can greatly benefit from Group Counseling as social interaction is a basic part of this type of counseling.
Goals of Group Counseling
Individuals participating in Group Counseling are provided a supportive environment so they can freely express themselves with others. It also helps the person recognize that they are not alone in overcoming whatever struggles they are currently facing. Among the goals of Group Counseling are:
