The initial step to determine the appropriate treatment and intervention for mental health challenges is to schedule a Psychological Evaluation with a counselor. Psychological Evaluation is a mental health assessment that aims to clarify and give a proper diagnosis to patients. Before you get started with your therapy plan, your therapist or counselor will need to understand what you are going through at the moment.
Through extensive clinical interviews, assessments, and formal tests, your counselor can then develop a treatment plan that will best help overcome the struggles you are going through.
How It Works
A counselor will work closely with you during the Psychological Evaluation. The process may take hours or several visits at our clinic depending on the depth of the individual’s mental health concern. You will have to complete an in-depth clinical evaluation and testing that includes questionnaires, checklists, behavioral observations, interviews, or surveys. The information provided by the client during the Psychological Evaluation will be used in determining an overall diagnosis or treatment plan, as well as in providing referrals when necessary.
Psychological Evaluation may help diagnose the following:
- Bipolar Disorder
- Mood Disorders
- Other mental health issues
